HISTORY

Friesen Drillers - Then and Now

Our Great Grandfather C.K. Friesen, built his own rig and got into the business by drilling for water in the Steinbach area and southeastern Manitoba. His experience grew and the Friesen name has become synonymous with drilling capability and quality work.

It could take our great grandfather up to six months to dig a well with the equipment he designed and used back in the 1800s. Today, customers can expect us to be able to drill their wells in just one day if nothing unforeseen happens. In 1992 we moved into a new 15,000-square-foot, two-level structure that offers both shop space and office environment to the company’s 18 to 40 employees.  May 15, 2007 we moved just outside of Steinbach into an existing building which offers us over 32,000 sq. ft. of office and shop facility to better serve our customers.

Today, clients and prospects from around the world call to discuss a host of water and well problems. Our base continues to be in the residential and commercial water well market, however we have diversified to numerous drilling related projects such as specialized pipe piles, ground loop heating and cooling systems and river bank stabilization.

Friesen Drillers Today
Our business has seen a lot of change since C.K. Friesen sunk his first well back in 1892, but what hasn't chaged is the way in which Friesen Drillers does business. The company is currently owned and operated by the fourth generation of Friesens with the fifth generation already out in the field. The heart of our business remains the strong relationships we have built with our clients. While we continue to embrace technological change and diversify our operations, we never forget that the most important thing we can give our clients is a reliable supply of clean, safe water.
